Developer eyeSight says its Moove MP3-playing application has been downloaded by more than 500,000 people from Nokia’s Ovi Store. That’s in less than four months since its launch – and it’s only available for one phone, the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. The player lets people play, stop and skip tracks by waving their hands over the 5800’s front-facing camera. eyeSight started life making mobile games using similar gesture controls, but had little luck, so turned its attention to music. “We are in talks with mobile phone manufacturers to license the Hand Gesture Interface to be integrated into new smartphones,” claims CEO Itay Katz.
