Amazon has acquired online music store AmieStreet, having been one of its early investors. However, the acquisition is resulting in the closure of the store, which made its name with an innovative dynamic pricing model, with songs getting more expensive as they got more popular. “As of September 22, 2010, all AmieStreet.com pages will be forwarded to Amazon.com and you will no longer be able to use AmieStreet.com or any of its services,” says an email sent out to users. However, the AmieStreet team will be focusing its attentions on its Songza internet radio service instead, which remains an independent entity.
