Global smartphone shipments reached a record 77 million units in Q3 – up 78% year-on-year. Nokia remains top dog having shipped 26.5 million smartphones during the quarter, with Apple (14.1 million) and Research In Motion (12.4 million) behind. Nokia took a 34.4% market share, with Apple taking 18.3%, RIM taking 16.1%, and other handset firms accounting for 31.3% – Strategy Analytics hasn’t published details for individual companies beyond the top three.Read more:
