28% of US mobile owners now have smartphones, and that in the last six months, 41% of people buying a new phone there opted for a smartphone. BlackBerry remains the most popular smartphone operating system in the US – this is for all handsets out there, not just new sales – with a 30% market share. iPhone is just behind with 28%, while Android is at 19% and growing fast.
