Dutch anti-piracy group BREIN is ending the year with a bang, succeeding in getting 29 torrent and torrent-link sites shut down on the grounds that they facilitate copyright infringement. BREIN worked with movie industry body the MPAA on the latest shutdowns, with one site – HD-UNiT3D – already redirecting visitors to BREIN’s own website. It caps a successful year for BREIN. “This year we have made over 600 of these sites inaccessible. Some seek refuge in a foreign hosting provider. These 29 apparently thought that in America they could go undisturbed. That is incorrect,” boss Tim Kuik tells TorrentFreak. “Through cooperation with our foreign colleagues we can make sites in other countries inaccessible.”
