Players of Rock Band games on the Nintendo Wii console won’t get any new songs from the Rock Band Network store after 18 January. The game’s developer Harmonix has announced the news on its official forums. Until now, artists releasing songs on the DIY Rock Band Network store on Xbox 360 have had a chance of being distributed to Wii gamers too, if their tracks prove popular. No more. “With the smaller online install base, limited demand for releases so far and the significant amount of work it takes for our producers and audio team to convert and process these additional tracks we’re no longer able to continue submitting RBN content to the Wii,” says Harmonix. However, the flow of non-RBN tracks will continue.
