Label Epitaph has launched a nifty campaign to promote the new album by Social Distortion. It involves making the full album available to stream online, working with social engagement firm VoxBloc and the SoundCloud player. But here’s the thing: for every 100,000 streams the album notches up, the price of the album will drop by $1 on Amazon, down to a minimum of $7.99. Every fan who pre-orders will get the lowest price when it goes on sale. The promotion has seen pre-orders spike by 500% since the stream went live, with every day seeing a 25% increase in Amazon pre-orders. Fans are also encouraged to share details of the stream on Twitter and Facebook.
