Research firm MarketsandMarkets has published a new report putting numbers to the global mobile apps market. It claims that last year, apps generated $6.8 billion of revenues, but that this will rise to $25 billion by 2015. The report suggests that Apple will take a 20.5% share of the latter figure, thanks to increased competition from rival app stores and smartphone platforms in the next four years.
