We’ve written about Jay-Z’s Decoded book before, when it got a whizzy promotional website. Now there’s an app for that too. Decoded collects together lyrics for 36 of the rapper’s songs, along with 30 minutes of video footage. Pay $9.99 for the app, and you get 10 ‘decoded’ songs with interactive lyrics, video interviews, and news – plus the ability to listen to the songs themselves (but only if they’re already in your iTunes library). However, an in-app purchase for $24.99 provides access to all 36 sets of lyrics and 17 video interviews. The app is the work of Random House, which published the original book.
