Remember the ‘Anonymous’ group that took a number of music industry websites offline last year in protest at anti-piracy legislation? Having turned its attention to DDoS attacks on Visa, Mastercard, PayPal and Amazon in support of Wikileaks, the group attracted the attention of the FBI, which has just raided more than 40 addresses in the US as part of its investigation. “The FBI also is reminding the public that facilitating or conducting a DDoS attack is illegal, punishable by up to 10 years in prison, as well as exposing participants to significant civil liability,” it says in a statement.
