The UK’s Official Charts Company has announced that MTV Networks is its ad-serving and sales partner, after a year spent working together on the d2c site. It’s the first such deal for MTV, although the two companies have been broadcast partners for some time, with MTV licensing several of the OCC’s charts. “After an excellent year building our traffic during 2010, our aim will be to build the revenue which we can generate through this key direct-to-consumer platform,” says Giles Jones from the OCC. Seperately, MTV is launching a new Official Chart Update show, based on the OCC’s mid-week data.
