One of the trends bubbling under the radar in the last year has been the addition of music capabilities to cloud services like Google Docs, Apple’s MobileMe and Microsoft’s SkyDrive. Now Google has announced some more features for Google Docs, based on the fact that – in product manager Vijay Bangaru’s words – “many of you have been taking advantage of the ability to upload any file to Google Docs”. Google is adding new filters to help users find particular file types, while replacing its ‘Folders’ option with ‘Collections’ – allowing users to group specific files together (such as… albums?). There is also a new preview pane for content, although for now this is for images and videos rather than music.
