This year’s SXSW will see a high-profile campaign by startup ShareSquare to promote its music-focused QR code platform. The idea: bands post the codes at venues when playing gigs, and when scanned by fans, they can lead to content, sign them up to mailing lists, or offer other benefits. Meanwhile, ShareSquare lets artists and marketers track all the analytics. The SXSW promotion will take the form of finding the ‘most scanned band’, and free beta invites to the service are being offered via Hypebot and on the links below.
