UK startup Songkick has told the Financial Times that it is now the second largest live music site in the world, behind only Ticketmaster/Live Nation. CEO Ian Hogarth also tells the FT that Songkick’s users and revenues both grew fivefold in 2010. “Our business model is to make money when we help fans find things they are looking for,” says Hogarth. The company signed a number of significant partnerships during the year with other music services, and is also working with PRS for Music to share data on live events.
