Here’s an interesting milestone, highlighted by analyst IDC’s latest report. It says 100.9 million smartphones were shipped in the fourth quarter of last year, compared to 92.1 million PCs – the first time smartphones have ever outsold computers. IDC’s stats reflect those of rivals in showing Nokia as the top smartphone maker in terms of unit sales, but with a rapidly-falling market share as rivals like Apple, Samsung and HTC climb fast.
