British music writers association BASCA has revamped its website, with new interactive features aimd at its songwriting members. They include a MySpace-style social networking element, where members can upload their own music and videos to their personal page on the site, to promote their work. Members can also flag up their availability for collaboration, while classical composers can register the first performances of their works. Meanwhile, there is also a new Public Affairs section focused on BASCA’s lobbying work. “Our new features are designed to further cement our position as the organisation which fosters a sense of community amongst its members,” says COO Vick Bain
