Yesterday rapper Lil Wayne broke the Guinness World Record for most Facebook Likes of a single post in 24 hours. But Cookie brand Oreo attempted to set the record first. It posted a call to action on Friday 11th on its Facebook page asking users to start ‘Liking’ at 9am Eastern Standard time on February 15th. Lil Wayne got in on the action soon after and informed fans that he was also trying to break the world record. Oreo broke the record after the end of its 24 hour period with 114,619 Likes, but Lil Wayne eclipsed it five hours later with 588,243 Likes. Oreo didn’t really lose out. It congratulated Lil Wayne on its Facebook page and will benefit from the publicity and alignment. Oreo has around 16.7 million Facebook Likes in total, and Lil Wayne has over 20 million.Read more:
