Dovetailing with the news that it will open its doors to the general public with a subscription tier in March, Topspin also announced a $5000 direct-to-fan grant program. The grant will be awarded to the applicant with the best direct-to-fan business plan and the winner will also receive four two-hour sessions of Topspin Pro Services consulting. The competition will be judged by a panel including Rick Rubin (co-president of Columbia Records), Marc Geiger (William Morris Endeavor) and Richard Jones (manager of the Pixies).
