The Wombats are back, Back, BACK! And they have a Shazam promotional campaign to accompany their new album. Fans are being encouraged to visit a new band site called Wombatizer, which lets them then visit any other website with a band-themed skin on top, and virtual scratch-card elements to unearth an image, which then plays a track that they can tag using Shazam to win tickets to a gig in Spain or the London album launch. In truth, it sounds a bit complicated versus, say, just getting people to tag the track when they hear it on the radio or stream it from the band’s website or social media profiles. But we like the Wombatizer idea.
