Coca-Cola continues its renewed push into music, with a new competition organised around American Idol. It has teamed up with Taio Cruz to crowdsource a new song, to be performed at the show’s season finale. Cruz will start the song and write the beginning of each verse, before calling for fans to help him finish it. The ‘Perfect Harmony’ contest has its own hashtag – #perfectharmony – and includes elements of fan voting to decide which submissions are used for the final song. This is part of Coca-Cola’s wider music push in 2011, which started last month with a 24-hour recording session for Maroon 5 in London – again with lots of fans chipping in.
