Session drummer Josh Freese made headlines back in 2009 after selling his album with a bunch of quirky premium options (Bulletin, 23-Feb-09). Now he’s at it again, with a range of offers for hardcore fans based around his new solo album My New Friends. The top-tier package costs $75,000, and involves Freese joining the buyer’s band for a month, giving them a drumkit, writing and recording a five-song EP all about them, giving them 500 copies of My New Friends on CD, getting matching outfits, and an offer to ‘take shrooms and cruise Hollywood in Danny from Tool’s Lamborghini’. “I doubt that one sells though… Thank God,” says Freese.
