Google’s AdMob mobile advertising division has released some results from a survey of more than 1,400 tablet users, on how they use their devices. 68% say they spend at least one hour a day on their tablet, 82% say they mainly use it at home, and 77% say their desktop or laptop usage has decreased since getting their tablet. Playing games is the most popular activity – 84% of tablet owners do it, ahead of searching for information (78%), emailing (74%), reading the news (61%) and social networking (56%). A catch-all category of ‘consuming entertainment’, which covers watching videos and listening to music, is done by 51% of tablet users.
