Toshiba and 7digital have been working together for a while – the former made an appearance at a press event by the latter last year to talk about plans for a tablet music store. Now the relationship has been expanded, with 7digital working on a browser-based music and video store called Toshiba Places, which will launch in the coming months. The idea: people will be able to buy and access content across PCs, tablets and connected TVs, with the service including apps and games too, as well as social features. 7digital also has a new exec focusing on its partnerships with consumer electronics firms: James Wheatley joins as VP of business development from a similar European role at eMusic.
