Nokia says its Ovi Store is now generating five million downloads of apps and personalisation content a day – five times the numbers it was doing a year ago. The store now has 40,000 app available, with more than 158 developers having done more than a million downloads through it. In the last two months, more than a quarter of Ovi Store downloads have come from cheaper Series 40 handsets rather than smartphones, as Nokia pushes the Ovi Store into emerging markets.
