US mobile operator Sprint has launched Spring Music Plus, a cross-platform music service offering a mixture of full tracks, albums, ringtones and ringback tones. RealNetworks is running the service, which includes playlist creation, music recommendations and bundles of products. The app is initially available for Android smartphones sold by Sprint, but will also make an appearance on BlackBerry and feature phone devices from May. Sprint says the new service will sit alongside other streaming music apps rather than seek to replace them.
