There is no shortage of fan analytics services out there for artists to use, but how many of them can get a band on TV? That appears to be the pitch for WHOOZNXT, a service launched by digital music marketing firm NXTM. Artists use the platform for free, pulling in data on their fan counts on various social networks, including info on their keenest fans. But the site also offers ‘opportunities’ such as gig slots and TV appearances to artists, based on how many fans they add during specific periods. UK metallers Asking Alexandria ended up on US show Jimmy Kimmel Live! as a result of using WHOOZNXT during SXSW recently. “Our system identified them as the band to watch at SXSW before general media was talking about them,” says founder Jeff Yapp. Source: Mashable
