It’s clearly the week for seed funding, with video conferencing startup Vokle announcing a round of $767,000. If the name is familiar, that’s because artist Imogen Heap was enthusing about the company’s service at Midem this year, and is using it for her crowdsourced songs experiments. In fact, Heap was one of the investors in Vokle’s new funding round, joining Tech Coast Angels, Sierra Angels and other private investors. Vokle had already closed $500,000 of seed funding over two rounds in 2008 and 2010. The new round may help Vokle reach out to more artists to use it to engage with fans over video.
