Sometimes, rewarding loyalty doesn’t have to involve high-falutin’ points schemes dreamt up by gamification gurus. Take Radiohead, for example. The band have just emailed everyone who bought the digital version of their King of Limbs album inviting them to download two new tracks that weren’t on it. Supercollider and The Butcher were released on vinyl last Saturday to celebrate Record Store Day, but are now being made a digital gift for fans who bought the album. “This is not part of a new loyalty points scheme, a Radiohead clubcard or even an air miles redeemable reward type thing… It is just a big old-fashioned thank you!” explains the email from the band to fans. Such a simple thing to do, but so effective. Source: MusicWeek
