Once upon a time, brands simply flung money at festivals and artists to associate themselves with live events. Now they’re more ambitious – as shown by Jagermeister’s Alice Cooper gig, and also by Samsung’s involvement with Little Comets. The band are playing an ‘interactive’ gig somewhere in the UK soon, with fans voting on Facebook to decide which city it should take place in. They’ll also vote on a cover version for the band to play at the show, and will be able to ask for personal shout-outs by the band and try to win a backstage meet’n’greet. As with Jagermeister / Alice Cooper, this all takes place on Samsung’s own Facebook fan page, driving traffic and Likes to boost its Galaxy range of handsets and smartphones.
