The world’s hottest artist and the world’s largest social games publisher? The union of Lady Gaga and Zynga could be a match made in heaven, and The Wall Street Journal is reporting that they’re in discussions for ‘a partnership to promote the singer’s upcoming album to Zynga’s huge audience of online game players’. Details of how any deal will work aren’t mentioned, although our guess is that it will run across one or more of Zynga’s existing games, rather than being an entirely new Gaga-themed social game. Although you never know. The WSJ points out that Zynga has more than 250 million active players across its Facebook games, including the likes of FarmVille and CityVille. Zynga has been gradually working more with music artists, including Snoop Dogg and Dr Dre, in recent months. It also just acquired the team behind web music game JamLegend, although the game itself has been shut down.
