The latest whizzy iPad music app? It’s called Planetary, and it’s the work of developer Bloom Studio. Launched on the App Store yesterday as a free download, it turns the user’s music collection into a ‘3D universe’ with planets representing albums. “Planetary is just the sort of science fiction experience you expect when using an object from the future like iPad. You’ll want to show your friends this beautiful app,” explains the blurb, which points out that the app can make use of iPad 2’s HDMI-Out capabilities to show the collection on big-screen TVs. “Planetary is the first of a new type of visual discovery app produced by Bloom Studio. In the coming months, we’ll be releasing an ongoing stream of apps that let you explore and participate in social networks, video streaming services, and location-based applications in a whole new way,” says the developer.
