NoiseToys is one of the mobile developers investigating apps with social features and game mechanics, and has already applied its ideas to music discovery with iOS app Hitmaker. Now it has announced a $1.2 million seed funding round from a range of individual investors, including Charles Huang, co-founder of Guitar Hero developer RedOctane. NoiseToys says it plans to use the funding to continue launching iOS and Android apps, and while it’s not specifically focused on music – its second app Apptitude was about discovering apps – Huang’s involvement hints that Hitmaker may not be the last music offering from the company.
