Audio platform SoundCloud has launched a new site, SoundCloud Labs, which it says aims to highlight the best experimental projects developed by employees using its API. The idea is that SoundCloud’s users will be able to play with the projects and give feedback. “SoundCloud Labs allows these innovations to come to life, but can remain relatively easy to manage as they stay in their experimental form,” explains CTO Eric Wahlforss. “While creating new opportunities for our users, we’re also able to showcase the potential of our API and continue to encourage third-party developers to build their own apps on our platform.” Four projects are available on the site at launch: Social Unlock, Importer, Google Apps Gmail Plugin and Takes Questions – the latter is SoundCloud’s Q&A service that launched in beta last month.
