The music game genre may be perceived to be in the doldrums right now, but Harmonix founder Chris Rigopulos has been defending his corner, and giving out some interesting stats about the Rock Band franchise. The Rock Band store now has more than 2,700 songs available from around 900 artists, and nearly five million players have downloaded at least one song from the Rock Band store since 2007. “With all of the negative press around the band genre, you might be surprised to learn that we still see more than a million unique users log on each month to play Rock Band and to pick up new music,” he says. “We recently hit a significant milestone; more than 100 million songs have been downloaded for Rock Band.”Read more:http://tinyurl.com/6kzu664
