One of the big controversies around Apple’s new subscription rules on iOS is the question of user data. Newspapers and magazines want to know who their subscribers are, but Apple doesn’t want to give them that data. However, it emerged recently that app publishers ARE allowed to ask users for it using opt-in forms, requesting that users enter their name and postal address. Now there’s some data back from a publisher who’s doing it, saying that 50% of his users were happy to give their data.
