As it gears up for its IPO, Pandora has published more statistics on its recent growth in an SEC filing. The company generated revenues of $51 million in Q1 this year, up 131% from a year ago. However, its losses for the quarter more than doubled to $6.8 million. Pandora had 94 million registered users at the end of March, having added 41 million of them in the last calendar year. The more important stat is that 34 million of those users were active, compared to 18 million at the end of Q1 2010. Meanwhile, in the first quarter of this year, Pandora users spent 1.6 billion hours playing music on the service – an average of 15.7 hours a month per active user. The filing also reveals that Pandora is currently spending 58% of its revenues on royalty payments. There are also some good stats on mobile usage. Pandora users are accessing the service from mobile devices 60.3% of the time, up from 50.5% in Q1 2010. Source: All Things Digital
