With DJ Hero currently on hiatus, there’s an opening for a DJ-themed music game. Hong Kong developer Playpen Studios thinks it may come on iPad and Android tablets. It’s announced plans to release Skillz: The DJ Game later this year (and also as a PC download). The game will see players mixing, scratching and crossfading on virtual turntables, with more than 20 licensed dance tracks from the likes of Diplo, Crookers and Fedde Le Grand. There’ll be a global leaderboard and other connected features, with plans to add new track packs for (paid) download once the game has launched.
