This isn’t directly music-related, but it’s interesting. UK Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills has launched an iPhone app called iQuiz LIVE, which claims to be ‘the world’s first live mobile quiz’. What that means is a ‘season’ of live shows which run for four weeks, and will see contestants answering 20 questions about music, sports, movies and general knowledge. It kicks off on Wednesday 15 June, with prizes on offer including HD TVs, games consoles and high-street vouchers. Mills will be the host, along with X Factor alumnus Peter Dickson. They’re working with developer Quapps Interactive on the application, which costs £1.79 on the App Store. It’s one of the most high-profile massively multiplayer iPhone games with real prizes as rewards. Given UMG and WMG’s involvement in solo-play iPhone quiz games, they may be watching iQuiz’s performance with interest. Source: AppShopper
