SoundCloud’s latest partnership is with micro-blogging platform Tumblr, which has been growing fast in the last year. The deal means SoundCloud users will now be able to publish sound from its service directly to their Tumblr blogs, whether they’re using SoundCloud’s mobile or desktop apps, or its website. “This is a great enhancement for Tumblr bloggers, SoundCloud users, and anyone who enjoys content on these platforms. For Tumblr, it’s a huge step towards our goal of letting our users easily share the things they care about most,” says Tumblr product director David Karp. Meanwhile, SoundCloud CEO Alexander Ljung says the deal “is binding two communities of people who both express themselves through the things they create and share, and that feels like a match made in heaven”. The partnership continues SoundCloud’s expansion beyond its core community of professional musicians to a wider base of internet users. Source: SoundCloud
