Indie body AIM has teamed up with the UKTI for its AIM for America digital music mission, which kicks off on 19 June. They’re taking 18 independent British companies to the US for a series of events that aim to help them work with the US digital market. They include master classes, case studies, roundtables and panel sessions, with speakers including TAG, The Orchard, Glassnote and Next Big Sound. The event will sync up with US body A2IM’s Indie Week event, where topics including Eminem’s class action suit, Amazon’s cloud, Google and the DMCA will be on the agenda. “The US music market has always been hugely important and influential. And now that music has become firmly established as a digital format, it becomes even more important to understand how to make the best of the US digital market,” says AIM boss Alison Wenham.
