Remember Rebecca Black and Friday? Those were the good times, eh? Oh. Anyway, Black is currently capitalising on her viral fame by making a cameo appearance in the new Katy Perry video, but she’s also filed a surprising copyright takedown YouTube request against… her own Friday vid. People trying to watch the video, which had reached 167 million views, now see a message saying “This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Rebecca Black”. VentureBeat points out that earlier this week, the production company that made the video – ARK Music Factory – had switched it to a $2.99 rental video. That may be what spurred the copyright clash from Black’s lawyers.
