There was plenty of press froth yesterday at the news that a British teenager called Ryan Cleary had been arrested in connection with the investigation into the LulzSec group of hackers. The group has been involved in a series of online attacks recently on companies including Sony, but also the US government. LulzSec is a splinter group from Anonymous, the online collective that has waged war against various entertainment industry companies and bodies, before turning its attention to other areas. Media coverage has suggested that Cleary may be the ‘mastermind’ behind LulzSec, while the group itself has claimed he was merely an associate. Source: Guardian
