CBS Interactive Group has relaunched MP3.com as previously announced, with some big-name artists making tracks available as free downloads for the site’s comeback. They include Arcade Fire, Paul McCartney, Mumford & Sons, My Morning Jacket, Britney Spears and Jennifer Hudson. The site has been refocused around promoting established artists as well as new and unsigned bands, with plans to spotlight individual tracks as well as labels. “MP3.com has been a cornerstone of the online music movement since the early days of the Internet,” says CBS Interactive Music Group president David Goodman. “The time is right to build on that history with this robust content offering. In so doing, we are confident we can continue to invigorate our long-standing relationship with the music industry in a mutually beneficial way.” Source: Music Week
