The latest artist to get into social gaming is something of a blast from the past: posterior-approving rapper Sir Mix-A-Lot. He’s teamed up with interactive agency Giant Thinkwell for a Facebook game called MixNMatch, which poses questions to players about Mix-A-Lot and their friends, with points to be redeemed for virtual goods including an exclusive track or a video shout-out from the star humself. To celebrate the launch, Sir Mix-A-Lot took to one of the buzzier digital music services of 2011 – Turntable.fm – for an online performance complete with customised avatars. “Having Mix host a set in Turntable would be slick, but having Mix as a skinny white guy with a faux-hawk simply wouldn’t do,” explains Giant Thinkwell’s co-founder Adam Tratt.
