It’s all change at UK music industry trade magazine Music Week, which has been acquired by Intent Media for £2.4 million in a deal that also includes fellow UBM titles Television Broadcast Europe, Pro Sound News Europe and associated websites, newsletters and conferences. Intent Media is based in Hertford, but will be opening an office in London this summer to house the up to 36 staff who are expected to transfer across. Intent publishes magazines and websites including games industry brands MCV and Develop, mobile site Mobile Entertainment and music trade titles MI Pro and Audio Pro International. “Intent has become the UK’s leading business media player in entertainment and technology. We are very excited to have added these new brands. Our policy of investment in online and events will continue, whilst ensuring longevity where possible for the core print titles,” says Intent boss Stuart Dinsey.
