Startups are a young person’s game, right? Maybe not. New research from the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor claims that over-35s were responsible for founding 80% of startups in 2009, although sadly it appears to have no figures for 2010. This is across all areas rather than just music and/or technology, but it’s a reminder that age is not a barrier to entrepreneurship. That said, it’s best not to assume anyone is too young to do something interesting in the startup space either: the other day we heard about a mobile entertainment startup called Kiip whose 19 year-old founder bagged $4 million of VC funding earlier this year.
