It’s not just US users who are flocking to social DJ service Turntable.fm – artists are trying it out too. Producer Diplo is the latest, playing three new Major Lazer tracks to an invited audience of music fans from blogs Hipster Runoff and Gorilla vs. Bear. However, Diplo found there are two potential negatives to using the site for this kind of thing. First, it seems that the audience weren’t that impressed with two of the new tracks, and made their opinions known with the built-in voting tool as well as chat messages, leading the crestfallen Diplo to quit the virtual room and tweet his displeasure. Second – and more serious – was the fact that some fans ripped the audio of the new tracks while they were being played, meaning there are potential piracy issues. Source: Billboard
