comScore has published some data on the popularity of mobile music streaming services in five European countries: the UK, France, Italy, Germany and Spain. It claims that 4.1 million people across those five countries are streaming m usic to their phones, although this is less than 2% of mobile users (and 4% of smartphone users). The data highlights Spotify’s success in Spain, where it is used by 48.1% of streaming mobile music users. In the UK, it is used by 17.1%, with the BBC’s radio service at 45.5% penetration.
