Facebook music marketing startup RootMusic has announced some new partnerships for its BandPage service, working with Bandsintown, Songkick and SonicLiving on new ‘social touring’ features. The changes mean fans visiting an artist’s BandPage will be able to see which friends are attending upcoming gigs, RSVP to say that they’re going, and also buy tickets. The partnerships also mean RootMusic can automatically pull in concert data rather than force it to be entered manually by artists and/or managers. They get to choose which of the three partners they want to pull the data from. “We are at a time where technology can be built to improve touring from a fan and artist perspective- its exciting to be a part of it,” says RootMusic CEO J Sider. “Now bands can give their fans easy access to get the word out to attend a show with their friends.” Source: RootMusic
