Remember the days when SliceThePie and SellaBand were duking it out to be top dogs in the fan-funding game? They’ve since taken a back seat to newer firms like Kickstarter and Pledge Music. However, SliceThePie has pivoted with its SoundOut subsidiary, which uses online scouts to rate tracks and identify those with the potential to be hits. SoundOut has now raised $2 million in funding from private investors. “The funding announced today will enable us to further accelerate this adoption over the coming months and significantly advance our SoundOut technologies,” says CEO David Courtier-Dutton.
